With the newspaper industry shrinking, my weekly food column, "Fresh Approach," has become one of the casualties. But the folks who have been reading my column since the mid-1980's (!) have indicated that they would be open to the idea of me continuing to provide my take on all things food - from philosophy to product analysis to recipes.

 

So, bear with me.  At some point those thoughts on food, beverage, preserving, art, and much more will become an integral part of my website. What fun!

I have followed your columns for decades! In the Gazette times, then the Medford Mail Tribune, and when we moved back to the valley I found you in the Oregonian, and I think the Capitol Press.
Our farm boys were raised on home cooked meals that were often influenced by your column!
I received a sweet print of yours from Garrison and Sasha last Christmas, and the name kept picking at my brain…I realize now that you are the precious back fence neighbor that they love and appreciate.

Totally relatable situation. Getting a blog ready takes more time than people expect, especially when you want things to look right and work smoothly. It's actually nice to see someone being honest about the process instead of rushing everything out.

Sometimes the planning stage is just as important as publishing, so taking the time now will pay off later. Looking forward to seeing how the page turns out once everything is in place. Keep going, you're on the right track.
