GREEN RIDGE ABOVE THE METOLIUS RIVER, OREGON CASCADES
We regularly ascend Green Ridge via a sinuous, rocky track to reach a vantage point opposite the east face of Mt. Jefferson. Just as regularly, that magnificent volcano drapes itself with a cloud, so I've yet to paint its shy side. Of course, Green Ridge is its own reward, with trees and meadows and vistas galore. A fine place to camp and eavesdrop on winds in the trees and other wild voices.
