We'll get to the art shortly, but first here's the cover of my new cookbook, "Oregon Hazelnut Country - the Food, the Drink, the Spirit" which was released in December of 2010.  Did you know that my home, the Willamette Valley, produces over 99% of the domestic hazelnut crop?  But this book isn't just about nuts.  It is 300 pages chock-full of great ideas for refreshing your cuisine with approachable recipes, complete with wine and beer pairings.  The book is divided into fairly classic sections, from appetizers, sides, and entrees, to desserts, and menu ideas.  Plus, lots of history, and a feel for what life is like here in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, from Dungeness crab feeds to weekend wine touring.

Now, about the art.  As you will see, much of it springs from my love of the wilderness, and the rest through my ongoing career as a food writer.  All of the images began as paintings executed with the finest watercolor pigments on 300 lb. cold press rag watercolor paper.  Some of these originals are still available for purchase.   All images are available as high quality limited edition prints.  These are produced by my own company, Stoneyburn Gallery, so I'm able to control quality from paintbrush through photography, proofing, printing and packaging for shipment.  We use professional-level inkjet printers and lightfast inksets, with excellent color gamut and stability, that are designed specifically for the production of fine art prints.  The inks are matched to heavy rag fine art paper that is textured to yield a look close to that of an original watercolor painting.  When you purchase a print, it will arrive signed and numbered, encapsulated in conservation grade materials along with a certificate of authenticity, and boxed flat.  Because we do all this in-house, we are able to keep our prices low and even cover part of the shipping cost for you.

Most images are also available as notecards.  We print these with lightfast, high-quality inks on white card stock, then pack them in groups of eight with envelopes in attractive boxes for only $10.  They make great gifts.
